Vivien Walker

21+ ONLY ✧ Mature & Character Driven RP ✧ EST ✧ Crystal: Balmung ✧ OOC approach first

Raised deep in the Coerthan wilderness amongst a matriarchal clan of Keepers and trained as their next priestess and guardian, Vivien was heavily sheltered from the outside world. Shortly before the Calamity, the Lambs of Dalamud would ambush her clan during a joyous celebration beneath the full moon in a ritualistic sacrifice to the “loyal hound.” Barely escaping and believing herself to be the sole survivor, Vivien survived the journey to Gridania through sheer luck. Clanless and free from duty, Vivien has since roamed Eorzea as an adventurer, penning memoirs and tales of her travels alongside her companions.

Out of Character

Elle ✧ 30s ✧ she / her ✧ married irl ✧ est ✧ Crystal: Balmung

Meowdy! Its a pleasure to meet you. I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to look over Vivien's carrd; it means so much to me. Behind the screen writing this moon catte is a lil biromantic demisexual frog named Elle! I can oftentimes be found all across Eorzea, particularly in PVP, "medium-core" content, or simply in random corners taking gposes! I love to meet new people and make new friends so please don't hesitate to say hello. An easy ice breaker if you wish for one is to send me a tell of your favorite dinosaur!   — (art gifted by chaosgremlin)

  • Due to the mature nature of my writing, I will only interact with other 21+ adults.

  • Do not blend IC and OOC! Vivien is not me and I am not Vivien; she is an entirely fictional character that I write for. She will often say, think or do things that are not reflective of my real life beliefs.

  • It is also worth stating that while Vivien available for romantic plots and is polyamorous, her writer is happily married and monogamous IRL.

  • I consider myself to be a multi-paragraph writer but I am always more than happy to condense my entries for those with shorter writing goals.

  • My preferred roleplay is plot driven, character focused and long-term although short term, one-shots and AUs will be considered depending on the circumstances.

  • I am happy to write a wide range of themes from slice of life, romance and adventure to mature, dark and even erotic content.

  • Whilst bigoted characters have their place in story-telling, OOC bigotry will result in a block. This means characters that fall under racist caricatures or trans-fetishist umbrellas are not welcome here.

  • Discord is available for long-term partners. I am happy to pair with roleplay partners via Lightless for in-game scenes and Gposing. First interactions that begin with asking for my sync will be politely declined as I find it incredibly rude to only interact with me to acquire my code.

  • Real life always comes first and I will always respect should it prevent a scene from occurring or even needing to stop. All I ask is for the same respect in return.

  • Ask about long-term injuries, character death and ERP. I will not tolerate perma death for Vivien. Please be sure to look at my F-List for a comprehensive peek at what I will and will not write in regards to erotic content. I can even be messaged there should I be AFK in-game!

  • I am not a suitable writing partner for someone who frequently name changes, fantasias and retires characters. Alts are fine but I tend to be drawn towards established characters.

  • A note on the Divine:

I am fully of the understanding that Vivien's connection to the divine can be intimidating, if not grandiose. I have tried my best to keep her within the realm of lore-bending versus outright lore-breaking; her condition only influences her peculiar appearance, aetheric attunement and how she engages in worship. Her power level is no greater than that of the average adventurer and her importance dwindles when outside of her village. No hard feelings if this isn't your cup of tea, though, and I'm happy to brainstorm scenes for my more grounded characters! — (art gifted by oruk)

Traits

  •   bibliophile    Vivien always has a book in her hands and her travelling bags are often uncomfortably heavy from their weight.

  •   formal    Her speech, mannerisms and clothing reflect formality to a near uncomfortable degree. Unless close or explicitly asked, she is unlikely to refer to someone by a nickname.

  •   gentle    Truly suited for her birthright as healer and priestess of her clan, Vivien appears to be as gentle as they come. So much so that her rare outbursts of frustration tend to come as a shock.

  •   religious    As expected of a priestess, Vivien is deeply devoted to her worship of Menphina. She can often be found whispering prayers to the Goddess.

  •   songstress    Whilst often shy about performing outside of ceremonial purposes, Vivien is a talented vocalist.

Flaws

  •   shy    Vivien is very unlikely to approach someone first and can be reserved upon first meetings.

  •   naive    Growing up in a small village, Vivien's ongoing naivety only seems to land her in precarious and unsavory situations.

  •   emotional drinker    While wine was a staple at meals in her village, Vivien sometimes tends to rely on the buzz found at the bottom of a bottle when she finds herself in emotional turmoil.

  •   bad with money    With little understanding of the importance and value of gil, Vivien is a prime candidate for market scammers.

  •   messy    All of Vivien's cleaning needs were often met by household maids and she's had a difficult time adjusting to having to pick up after herself.

Bonds

A ☆ will indicate which characters are NPCs. A ★ indicates my other characters available for RP. Banner is lovingly taken and edited by the talented @sammie-jei!

Family

  • Kaian Walker

  • Spouse, CEO of Walkerworks

Vivien and Kaian are two halves of one whole — for what is the Moonmaiden without her shield of Light? Despite an initially offputting first impression of one another, their love would blossom over countless adventures together. No matter the trial, no matter the tribulation — these two will forever overcome anything that dares to threaten their bond.

  • F'vaz Nunh

  • Mate, Emberlord of Sōl

Sōl village is the sunlit sister of Vivien's beloved Luné with F'vaz as their Nunh. Having met under less-than-stellar circumstances, they nonetheless found themselves falling in love with one another. Their union signified a joyous rejoining of their villages resolving centuries of conflict between the villages beloved by sun and moon.

  • Jacques ☆

  • Gaelicat

Vivien met this feisty Gaelicat soon after the fateful night that destroyed her clan. Bonding over a shared love of salted fish, Vivien and Jacques have been inseparable since their initial meeting. Jacques has been a near constant source of joy and comfort for Vivien albeit a headache as well, often getting into things he shouldn't.

Friends

  • Theodora Baudelaire ★

  • Knight of Winter

A brume rat turned respected knight serving underneath the guidance of Claudien Winter, Theodora was tasked with teaching Vivien swordsmanship during her time in Ishgard. Two distinctly different women, they get along oddly well despite how frequently they would initially butt heads.

  • Jean Faunus

  • makeup artist & fashion coordinator

If you've ever wondered how Vivien always manages to look so impeccably beautiful at social events, Jean Faunus is the man behind the vision. More than her makeup artist and designer, Jean is a close friend and trusted confidant of Vivien's.

  • Natasha Siefelle

  • pen pal & confidant

Natasha is a noblewoman of House Siefelle, respected knight and trusted friend of Vivien. The two were quick friends upon their initial meeting and regularly exchange letters throughout their individual adventures. It is to one another that they first expressed love for their individual partners.

Hooks

Here are some blanket ideas to get us started! I am open to both pre-existing relationships or forming entirely new ones. If you're not interested in any of the below but Vivien still interests you, please don't hesitate to reach out with your own ideas! I'm incredibly open when it comes to new stories to explore.

  • Adventurer

Rarely seeking gil in return for her talents, Vivien is all the same a reliable healer. She is often seeking odd jobs for the thrill of adventure and, well, sometimes for gil should she lose her coin purse.

  • Bibliophile

Vivien is a bookworm at heart and is rarely seen without a book in her hands. Recently, she has begun to anonymously publish her own romance novels under the pseudonym Bella Starwright.

  • Market mishaps

Both notoriously bad with money and naive to a fault, there is rarely anything good to come once an unattended Vivien steps foot in a market.

  • Bounty

Those with connections to seedier channels might have come to learn of a bounty seeking the retrieval of a woman matching the Moonmaiden's description. The parchment is marked by the Mark of Menphina albeit with crimson moon looming behind it.

  • Keeper of the Moon

Luné's culture differs from other clans but she is always hoping to bond and connect with the Keepers she encounters along her many journeys.

  • The Moonmaiden

Are you, too, blessed by the Twelve? Or are you simply a researcher wishing to know more about those connected to the Gods? Maybe even a follower? Do you wish to challenge her claims of divinity?

  • Treasure Hunter

Vivien has been seeking a peculiar crescent scythe that she claims to have originated from Luné. She is strangely eager to do anything within her power to assure its retrieval.

  • Strange Aether

Those with aethersight might notice her glittering yet icy cold aether. Anyone who takes more than a cursory interest might notice how utterly strange it is. Aetherologists and void-touched individuals may find themselves drawn to her.

Locations

  • Moontide Manor: Empyreum Ward 7, Plot 37 [balmung]

Moontide Manor is available to visit for any weary travelers. Home to the Village of Luné, this is a recreation of its main manor and other locations of importance in the form of FC rooms. The manor is intended to act as a visual base for the village of Luné in the event of any potential storytelling either solo or collaborative. Due to the limitations of FF14 housing, the manor is not entirely accurate to what was originally imagined but it serves its purpose beautifully.Completed FC rooms: the Moonmaiden's dreamspace.

Character History

BIOGRAPHY — CHARACTER SPOILERS AHEAD    Nestled deep in the Coerthan wilderness lies a reclusive village unmarked on any map and known only as Luné, inhabited by Keepers of the Moon heavily devoted to their worship of the goddess Menphina. The denizens of the clan are rarely seen outside of their village, only leaving their blissful solitude for trade and to complete their annual pilgrimage to the Mark of Menphina. In some Luné prayers, a tale is sung telling of the birth of a child whose eyes beheld the stars themselves. Initially viewed as an abomination and not of this realm, the matriarch of the clan would command that the infant be left in the freezing cold to succumb to the elements. Menphina then appeared before the Keepers, breaking her vow of non-intervention, and took the child in her arms. Sparing not a moment, Menphina would bless the child with glowing stars across her skin; it is said in one song that Menphina plucked a star from the sky and imbued the infant with glowing star freckles while another song would claim that the stars were formed from Menphina’s tears of joy. Returning the child to her mother and fleeing back to her sanctuary of ice among the gods, Menphina fell silent once more. The infant blessed by Menphina would become known to the village as the Moonmaiden, whose eyes and skin mirrored the stars under which they walked, a woman whose aether was born of moonlight. Eventually, the Moonmaiden became a mother herself, her newborn daughter inheriting her glowing freckles and inclination for the moon. The blessing would pass from mother to daughter for generations, over which centuries would pass and the Moonmaiden would prove herself an instrumental part in the clan’s survival. In the near present day, the mantle would fall to a shy, gentle girl whose mother named her Vivien. Full of wonder and curiosity, the young Vivien was always seen with a book in hand and often dreamed of exploring the world outside of Luné, the village having long been concealed with magicks following a conflict with another clan. Despite her wonder of the world, exploration of it was not to be her fate and thus she spent her youth training 'neath her mother as the next Moonmaiden. Moonlit dances, astromancy lessons and aetheric training consumed much of her childhood and teenage years although she often would escape to the still-green Coerthan mountains to spend afternoons reading beneath the warm sun. She rarely encountered the outside world, only doing so during the clan's bi-annual pilgrimages to the Mark of Menphina. These small excursions always left her yearning for adventure and deeply wishing she had not been born with such a heavy burden upon her shoulders. With its crimson glow looming in the night sky, Menphina's Hound approached the star as the peaceful people of Luné were deep in the throes of the Plenilune. What should have been a joyous occasion for the clan as they celebrated beneath the full moon instead twisted into a night of horror as the Lambs of Dalamud appeared. The forest would be filled with screams and bloodshed that night as the clan was massacred in a ritualistic sacrifice for the approaching red moon. Vivien barely managed to escape, her mother having sacrificed herself to secure her beloved daughter’s survival. Cries of agony from the only people she had ever known echoed in the forest as she fled. After many days walking on painful, blistering feet and befriending a Gaelicat along the way, Vivien would find herself in Gridania. It is here that Vivien would lay recovering from her injuries as the Calamity came, forever changing Eorzea and plunging her beloved Coerthas into an eternal winter. Encumbered by guilt, grief and trauma from that bloody night, Vivien chose to hide her identity, concealing her glowing freckles as best she could.Eventually she would encounter Kaian Walker at the job board and they would form a small adventuring party together, albeit after an awfully off-putting first impression of one another. Their adventures would take them all over the world and lead to them eventually falling in love. Now married, the two continue to experience journeys together beyond their wildest dreams. Now, Vivien seeks to rebuild Luné, seeking survivors and others devout to Menphina in her effort to find safety within the Moontide.
