─ Vivien Walker
❛ Beloved by the moon and touched by stars, Vivien hails from a bloodline that was blessed by Menphina a millennia ago as her Moonmaiden. Raised deep in the wilderness of Coerthas amongst a matriarchal clan of Keepers and trained as their next priestess, Vivien was heavily sheltered from the outside world. During her rite of passage as the Moonmaiden, her clan would be ambushed and massacred by the Lambs of Dalamud in a ritualistic sacrifice to the ever nearing red moon. Clanless and free from duty, Vivien has roamed Eorzea as an adventurer, seeking comfort and companionship as she navigates the world as a moon-touched maiden. ❜

─ Out of Character
Elle ✧ 30 ⊹ she / her ✧ est ✧ Crystal: Balmung
❛ Meowdy! Its a pleasure to meet you. I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to look over Vivien's carrd; it means so much to me. Behind the screen writing this moon cat is a lil frog named Elle! I've been writing creatively for over twenty years, both independently and collaboratively. I can oftentimes be found all across Eorzea, particularly in PVP, "medium-core" content, or simply in random corners taking gposes of my various characters! Please don't hesitate to say hello if you see me ingame! I love to meet new people and make new friends! ❜
Rule 001.
OOC ettiquette.
Please do not blend IC and OOC! Vivien is not me and I am not Vivien; she is an entirely fictional character that I write for. Its unfortunate that this needs to be said but I will not hesitate to cease contact should this boundary be violated. With that said, I want to express that I am in a real life relationship that I deeply treasure so please do not approach me if roleplay is some strange form of a dating app for you. While Vivien is polyamorous, Elle is monogamous! What I am interested in, however, is fostering friendships with my writing partners and chatting OOC (just don't be creepy, y'know?)
Rule 003.
roleplay length & entries
While I consider myself to be a paragraph to novella style roleplayer and my entries can often take multiple text boxes ingame and sometimes even in Discord, I highly encourage those with shorter writing preferences to still consider reaching out. I am very comfortable matching my writing partners' preferences and condensing my entries. My only solid request is please no one-liners unless narratively appropriate!
Rule 005.
roleplay preferences
My preferred roleplay is plot driven, character focused and long-term although short term plots and one-shots will be happily considered depending on the idea! I am happy to write a wide range of themes from slice of life and adventure to mature and dark content with my preference being for the latter. Lore bending is very welcome so please do not hesitate to approach me with your more "out there" characters; I am rarely a stickler for the canon. I do not particularly enjoy writing modern AUs. Please discuss darker themes with me first so we can make sure that we are on the same page and don't make one another uncomfortable or trigger any OOC traumas.
Rule 002.
ingame and discord roleplay
Discord is where I prefer to roleplay if possible, particularly for the added benefit of being able to read back upon previously completed scenes and better organization between OOC and IC. However, writing ingame is quite fun when my schedule allows for it; I also utilize a plugin to log roleplays. All that to say — I'm happy to do both! With the absence of Mare, I am apprehensive sharing modpacks of my characters in an effort to preserve my personal mods so such alternatives will be reserved for trusted friends only. Sorry!
Rule 004.
roleplay content
I am fully aware of just how "extravagant" Vivien's lore is considering she is someone blessed by a goddess and also married to the Warrior of Light. If that is too much for you but you are still interested in Vivien, fear not! I am more than happy to focus on adventuring and other plot-lines (and actually prefer it!) Her husband even need not ever be mentioned as the Warrior of Light as I would much prefer to invest my energy in Vivien and whoever I am currently writing with. I am quite understanding when it comes to omitting details for the sake of comfort and personal canons.
Rule 006.
so, let's talk about the moonmaiden!
Yes, Vivien is an individual whose bloodline is blessed by a goddess! However, she is not overpowered by any means, nor is she particularly important outside of her home village. The Moonmaiden blessing essentially only influences her appearance, aether and attunement to celestial magic; any "buffs" gained are "nerfed" by physical pain and long "cooldowns." With the destruction of her village, she is no longer a figure of importance and it is unlikely to come up in roleplay unless agreed upon prior. If this does interest you, I would be thrilled to workshop ideas for pre-established relationships.

Personality
Soft, excruciatingly shy and as gentle as snow, initial impressions of Vivien are usually pleasant, albeit short-lived, as she prefers not to partake in extended small-talk. Such timidity around new people is often mistaken as coldness, disinterest or even pretentiousness; those that have the privilege of getting to know the quiet Keeper will find her to be a loyal and empathetic friend although quiet and lacking self-esteem. Traits
bibliophile Vivien always has a book in her hands and her travelling bags are often uncomfortably heavy from their weight.
romantic From the roses planted outside of a quaint cottage to tear-jerking scenes in her novels, Vivien is always one to find the magic in the mundane.
gentle Truly suited for her birthright as healer and priestess of her clan, Vivien is as gentle as they come. So much so that her rare outbursts of frustration are a shock to any that experience them. Such gentleness and kindness is prone to exploitation, however.
somnolent Due to her innate attachment to the moonlight, she often finds herself wide awake late at night and unable to sleep. If encountered during the daylight, she is surely very sleepy.
Flaws
shy Vivien is very unlikely to approach someone first and can be reserved upon first meetings.
sheltered Growing up in isolation, Vivien can sometimes struggle to adapt to the world outside of her village.
emotional drinker While wine was a staple at meals in her village, Vivien sometimes tends to rely on the buzz found at the bottom of a bottle when she finds herself in emotional turmoil.
bad with money With little understanding of the importance and value of gil, Vivien is a prime candidate for market scammers.
messy All of Vivien's cleaning needs were often met by household maids and she's had a difficult time adjusting to having to pick up after herself.

History
BIOGRAPHY Nestled deep in the Coerthan wilderness lies a reclusive village unmarked on any map known only as Luné, inhabited by Keepers of the Moon heavily devoted to their worship of the goddess Menphina. The denizens of the clan are rarely seen outside of their village, only leaving their blissful solitude for trade and to complete their monthly pilgrimage to the Mark of Menphina for prayer beneath the dazzling full moon.In some Luné prayers, a tale is sung telling of the birth of a child whose eyes beheld the stars themselves. Initially viewed as an abomination and not of this realm, the matriarch of the clan would command that the infant be left in the freezing cold to succumb to the elements. Menphina then appeared before the Keepers, breaking her vow of non-intervention, and took the child in her arms. Sparing not a moment, Menphina would bless the child with glowing stars across her skin; it is said in one song that Menphina plucked a star from the sky and imbued the infant with glowing star freckles while another song would claim that the stars were formed from Menphina’s tears of joy. Returning the child to her mother and fleeing back to her sanctuary of ice among the gods, Menphina fell silent once more. The infant blessed by Menphina would become known to the village as the Moonmaiden, whose eyes and skin mirrored the stars under which they walked, a woman whose aether was born of moonlight. Eventually, the Moonmaiden became a mother herself, her newborn daughter inheriting her glowing freckles and inclination for the moon. The blessing would pass from mother to daughter for generations, over which centuries would pass and the Moonmaiden would prove herself an instrumental part in the clan’s survival. In the near present day, the mantle would fall to a shy, gentle girl whose mother named her Vivien Mewrilah. Full of wonder and curiosity, the young Vivien was always seen with a book in hand and dreamed of exploring the world outside of Luné, the village having long been concealed with magicks following a conflict with another clan. Despite her wonder of the world, exploration of it was not to be her fate and thus she spent her youth training underneath her mother as the next Moonmaiden. Moonlit dances, astromancy lessons and aetheric training consumed much of her childhood and teenage years although she often would escape to the still-green Coerthan mountains to spend afternoons reading beneath the warm sun. She rarely encountered the outside world, only doing so during the clan's monthly pilgrimages to honor the full moon. These small excursions always left her yearning for adventure and deeply wishing she had not been born with such a heavy burden upon her shoulders. The day of her coming-of-age ceremony came as Menphina’s Hound approached the star, its crimson glow looming in the night sky. Leaving Luné, Vivien traveled alongside her mother and clan to the Mark of Menphina to complete her rite. What should have been a joyous occasion for the clan as they welcomed their next Moonmaiden instead became a night of horror as the Lambs of Dalamud appeared. The forest would be filled with screams and bloodshed that night as the clan was massacred in a ritualistic sacrifice for the approaching red moon. Vivien barely managed to escape, her mother having sacrificed herself to secure her beloved daughter’s survival. Cries of agony from the only people she had ever known echoed in the forest as she fled. After many days walking on painful, blistering feet and befriending a Gaelicat along the way, Vivien would find herself in Gridania where she would be extended a great kindness from the adventurer guild's proprietor in the form of lodging. It is here that Vivien would lay recovering from her injuries as the Calamity came, forever changing Eorzea and plunging her beloved Coerthas into an eternal winter. Encumbered by guilt, grief and trauma from that bloody night, Vivien chose to hide her identity, concealing her glowing freckles beneath layers of clothes. Eventually, she would encounter Kaian Walker at the job board and they would form a small adventuring party together, albeit after an off putting first impression of one another. Their adventures would take them all over the world and lead to them eventually falling in love.

─ Bonds
❛ A ☆ will indicate which characters are NPCs while a ★ will be used for other characters of my own that are available for roleplay. Images will link to individual carrds if available. ❜
─ Walker Family

Kaian Walker
Spouse
Vivien and Kaian are two halves of one whole — for what is the Moonmaiden without her shield of Light? Despite an initially offputting first impression of one another, their love would blossom over countless adventures together. No matter the trial, no matter the tribulation — these two will forever overcome anything that dares to threaten their bond. Eventually, their love would bring about three children: Eulalie, Julien and Rosalie.

Mine Kurosawa ★
faithful companion
Related to the Walker family by neither blood nor marriage, Mine Kurosawa's presence amongst the family is a puzzling one. Her strange and mechanical appearance already all but begs for prying inquiries and the family is quick to change the subject to much more mundane subjects. Her monotonous certainly does not help manners. Always near the Walker family in some form, she rarely converses with those outside of Vivien and Kaian.

Jacques ☆
family gaelicat
Vivien met this feisty Gaelicat during only a couple of nights after the fateful night that destroyed her clan. Bonding over a shared love of fish sandwiches, Vivien and Jacques have been inseparable since their initial meeting. Jacques has been a near constant source of joy for Vivien albeit a headache as well, often getting into things he shouldn't. No matter where Vivien goes, Jacques follows although the Gaelicat has begun to stay home more often than not in his old age.
─ Sōl Village

F'vaz Nunh
Mate
Sōl village is the sunlit sister of Vivien's beloved Luné with F'vaz as their Nunh. Having met under less-than-stellar circumstances, they nonetheless found themselves falling in love with one another. Their union signified a joyous rejoining of their villages resolving centuries of conflict between the villages beloved by sun and moon.

F'ninde
Sōl guard
One of the first people that Vivien met in Sōl, F'ninde is as serious as she is beautiful. Her blind eye has done little to hinder the Seeker who is well respected within her oasis home as a respected warrior. She is incredibly close with F'vaz, having sworn her life to protect him — and, by extension, Vivien.

F'lenna
Sōl scout
F'lenna insists that you call her Lenna! A childhood friend of F'vaz, Lenna has been by his side through thick and thin. Once coming of age, she joined F'ninde in swearing herself fully to her village and F'vaz. Her bubbly and clumsy nature leaves one questioning how she earned the title of scout but she proves herself to be quite stealthy on the field.
─ Friends

Theodora Baudelaire ★
Knight of Winter
A brume rat turned respected knight serving underneath the guidance of Claudien Winter, Theodora was tasked with teaching Vivien swordsmanship during her time in Ishgard. Two distinctly different women, they get along oddly well despite how frequently they initially would butt heads.

Jean Faunus
makeup artist & fashion coordinator
If you've ever wondered how Vivien always manages to look so impeccably beautiful at social events, Jean Faunus is the man behind the vision. More than her makeup artist and designer, Jean is a close friend and trusted confidant of Vivien's.

Natasha Siefelle
pen pal & confidant
Natasha is a noblewoman of House Siefelle, respected knight and trusted friend of Vivien. The two were quick friends upon their initial meeting and regularly exchange letters throughout their individual adventures. It is to one another that they first expressed love for their individual partners.

─ Hooks
❛ Here are some blanket ideas to get us started! I am open to both pre-existing relationships or forming entirely new ones! If you're not interested in any of the below but Vivien still interests you, please don't hesitate to reach out with your own ideas! I'm incredibly open when it comes to new stories to explore. ❜
Traveller
Having run away from her duty and now a full-fledged adventurer, Vivien is more often than not found in the most unlikely places across Etheirys. Adventuring contacts, potential friends, enemies and even rivals are highly sought after!
Bibliophile
Vivien is a bookworm at heart and is rarely seen without a book in her hands. Recently, she has begun to publish her own erotic romance novels under a pseudonym. Perhaps you're a fellow bibliophile or a fan of her work?
Tea enthusiast
Forever a lover of the finest teas, Vivien frequents tea shops in the locales she visits and can often be seen with book in hand as she sips away the afternoon. Would you like to share some tea with her? Do you own a tea shop yourself?
Keeper of the Moon
For most of Vivien's life, she experienced very little of the world outside of her isolated clan deep in Coerthas. Luné's culture differs from other clans but she is always hoping to bond and connect with the Keepers she encounters along her many journeys.
The Moonmaiden
Are you, too, blessed by the Twelve? Or are you simply a researcher wishing to know more about those connected to the Gods? Maybe even a devout follower? There is so much to explore with the Twelve and their everlasting impact upon the star.
Aether Crystals
A boon granted by Menphina's blessing is the ability to siphon aether from moonlight and transfer it into crystals. Such crystals can be used for gear augmentation or magitek power sources and may be highly sought after for such uses.
